AUDITION NOTICE – Silent Sky
Audition Date: Monday 7/20, 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. (Callbacks TBD)

Rehearsals: 4/4/16 – 5/4/16
Production Dates: 5/5/16 – 5/22/16
Preparation: Email Connie at firstname.lastname@example.org for an audition appointment (15-minute slots). If you did not attend the June 6th Unified Auditions, please prepare a monologue not to exceed 90 seconds. If you did attend the Unifieds, and were called back via an email invitation, you will not have to repeat your monologue. All will be asked to read from sides; a reader will be provided. Sides will be available at TampaRep.org/SilentSkyAuditions. Everyone should bring an updated photo & resume to the audition, unless you have one on the Theatre Tampa Bay website.
About the play:
Set in the 1900’s and progressing to 1920, the play follows Henrietta’s journey from her home in New England to Harvard Observatory where she joins a group of amazing women dubbed “human computers” as they count the stars and map the night sky. Henrietta’s work will lead to her discovery of what is now known as Leavitt’s Law.
Henrietta Leavitt – 30’s, brilliant, meticulous, excited, wears a period hearing aid.
Margaret Leavitt – 30’s, handsome, creative, sweet, sister.
Peter Shaw – 30’s, the head astronomer’s apprentice
Annie Cannon – 40’s, the leader of the female commuters, terse, sure
Williamina Fleming – 50’s, smart and fun, Scottish
