Techniques of Acting

June 3 – 7, 2019, 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Advanced Scene Study, Monologue and/or Song Interpretation,

Vocal Production and Text Analysis,

Movement, and Character Development

Techniques of Acting is for serious young actors who wish to develop acting skills needed to create truthful characters. Actors will deepen their skills and delve thoroughly into character development and text analysis, with emphasis on creating and actively pursuing acting objectives, discovering scenes through character relationships, physical and vocal work, emotional truth and availability. This is an excellent prep course for students auditioning for college or advanced high school drama programs. Full week attendance is required. This intensive culminates in a Friday afternoon open classroom.

Acting in Genre from Classic to Contemporary

June 10 – 14, 2019, 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

A practical introduction to common theatrical genres, 

including Shakespeare, Classical Greek, 

Farce, and Contemporary Drama/Comedy

Acting in Genre is for serious young actors who have a base knowledge of acting techniques and are interested in exploring the practical applications involved in acting across different genres. The basis of acting is “behaving truthfully in imaginary circumstances.”  Through a mixture of monologue and scene work, students will learn the practical application of the creative and practical techniques required to act in different genres. This is an excellent advanced prep course for students auditioning for college or advanced high school drama programs. Full week attendance is required. This intensive culminates in a Friday afternoon open classroom.

This is an advanced and fast-paced program. Students in the intensive summer program are expected to individually prepare assigned work on their own prior to the start date and in the evenings during the program.

Tuition: $425 per week  

Early Bird Registration $375 per week if paid in full by May 15.

Intensives may be taken individually or as a 2-week progression.

For enrollment, a deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve a spot in each intensive. 

Full tuition is due by June 1, 2019
