TampaRep’s third season opened with I Do! I Do!, the “musical about marriage,” written by The Fantasticks creators Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. The show traces 50 years in the marriage of Agnes and Michael, from 1895 to 1945, and features a rich score that includes many great tunes, including the popular duet “My Cup Runneth Over.”
I Do! I Do! stars Emilia Sargent, winner of a “Best of the Bay” nod from Creative Loafing for her amazing performance as Blanche DuBois in TampaRep’s A Streetcar Named Desire, and Ned Averill-Snell (another “Best of the Bay” winner) fresh off his role as Claudius in last season’s Hamlet.
The show, directed by Connie LaMarca-Frankel, with choreography by Crystal Solana Bryan and musical direction by Emi P. Stefanov, opens September 26th. Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for students, seniors, and military personnel. (Or get a FlexPass – six punches to any combination of TampaRep shows for $99 — that’s TampaRep’s FlexPass!
